Bluelight becomes Employee-owned
A company built differently is now owned differently.

In December 2024, Bluelight completed the process of transitioning to being 100% employee-owned. This means our entire company is now held in trust for current and future employees.
Since we started back in 2015, we've built great solutions for membership and charity organisations using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Umbraco.
Now, we're taking the next big step in our journey.

When we started Bluelight, we wanted to do things differently; now, everyone here has a real stake in making that vision happen.

Why We Chose This Path
Both our founders had worked in big corporations before starting Bluelight. They saw what happened when companies were sold or took on external funding. Priorities changed, client relationships often suffered, and the original vision got lost. They didn't want that for Bluelight, our team, or our clients.

There's such a buzz around the office now. This isn't just a job anymore. We're all building something together.

How Does It Actually Work?
All of Bluelight's shares are now held by an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). A trustee board works with company directors, making sure big decisions match Bluelight's values while the management team runs daily operations.
What's Different Now?
The exciting part is we all share in the company's success. But don't worry - we're still the same bunch delivering the same great work. We're just more invested than ever in doing it well.

This isn't just about ownership—it's about creating a lasting legacy. We're building something that can endure and grow while staying true to our original vision of doing things differently.

What's Next for Us?
We're looking forward to growing our services and taking on new challenges - but always in a way that stays true to who we are. We'll keep focusing on what we do best: delivering great CRM solutions, building amazing web platforms, and helping organisations make the most of their data.
Employee ownership feels like a natural step for a company that set out to be different. Now, Bluelight moves ahead with every team member invested in its success.
We’re looking forward to this next chapter!
The Questions You Probably Have
An Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) is a legal structure where a trust holds 100% of a company's shares on behalf of its employees. The trust ensures the company maintains its independence and culture while aligning employee and business interests for long-term success.
No. All our services, expertise, and client relationships remain exactly the same. The only change is in our ownership structure.
Our existing management team continues to run daily operations. The new trustee board provides additional oversight on major decisions to ensure they benefit both clients and employees.
Yes. Your project teams and contacts remain unchanged. The EOT structure actually helps us retain our talented team members for the long term.
